This Kenzo buffalo leather jacket is a prime example of quiet luxury from the late ‘90s to early 2000s—most likely around 1999 to 2001, a transitional era in menswear that merged classic tailoring with a refined, minimal approach to luxury. Under the artistic direction of Gilles Rosier, who led Kenzo menswear from 1999 until around 2003, following the departure of Kenzo Takada himself in 1999.

Crafted from dense, supple brown buffalo, the outer shell is nearly stitchless, save for subtle shaping seams and two vertical zip pockets that blend seamlessly into the body. Inside, the jacket features a quilted upper lining for warmth and structure, paired with a silky lower lining and a hidden interior pocket. The overall finish is one of the cleanest we’ve seen on a leather garment from this era.
